Our Clinical Team

Our amazing team of therapists are highly trained and dedicated professionals, who are accredited by the most appropriate, reputable professional bodies to their field of practice.

All of our therapists, including students, are insured for their practice, and are members of the ICO.

Each possesses an up to date DBS check and have provided references to Rebekah, who leads the team and service overall.

Rebekah provides clinical supervision for all of our therapists, and oversees all clinical activity in the service from the point of referral, throughout treatment, to the point of discharge.

Clinical Lead

Rebekah Jones, UKCP Clinical Psychotherapist and Individual / Group Supervisor
ATICP / UKPTS / ESTSS Trauma Therapist, Certified EMDR Therapist, CISM Practitioner, Couples Therapist

Introduction... the professional

I am a multiply accredited (UKCP, ATICP and UKPTS) experienced Psychotherapist, from a strong Psychodynamic foundation but with an overarching Psychodynamic-Systemic-Trauma working position.

Since qualifying, I have undertaken additional accredited training to become a UK EMDR Association Certified EMDR Therapist, as well as a fully qualified Trauma Therapist / Coach, Couples Therapist, ACT therapist, EFT therapist, Mindfulness Instructor, CISM Practitioner and Eco-psychotherapist, as well as a Clinical Supervisor for individuals and groups. At the present time I am undertaking additional COSRT approved training to become a Psychosexual Therapist in addition.

I have worked within mental health services (NHS, charity and private) for over 31 years, initially as a Registered Nurse and, since 2015, as a therapist. Due to my NHS work, I have a significant level of skill in working with clients who many see as 'too complex', as well as in assessing, managing and working with risk.

As a Trauma Psychotherapist, I have extensive experience in working with people who have been exposed to a range of trauma in their life. This has included childhood trauma, sexual trauma, bullying and assault as well as well known traumas including murder, rape and high profile disasters including working with survivors of sexual grooming gangs and cults.

I am a qualified CISM Practitioner, and as a debriefer have worked with individuals and groups who have been impacted by many high profile events, including Grenfell, the Manchester bombings, London bombings and Shoreham air crash, as well as workplace traumatic events as an 'on-call' debriefer.

As a Supervisor, I have been supporting student and trained therapists since 2018, and began teaching within the counselling and psychotherapy arena in the same year, having previously  taught on nursing and care related courses for many years prior to this. I very much enjoy teaching, and have recently developed a CPD programme which will become available as webinars during 2025.

I am currently studying towards my PhD with University of Brighton, and am on track to complete in 2027. My thesis is entitled: 'Nature's couch: Exploring Psychodynamic Psychotherapists narratives of eco-psychotherapy in clinical practice.' The aim of this research is to build upon the work of Dr Martin Jordan, a well renowned Eco-psychotherapist and the man who introduced me to working in nature with clients, by exploring the experiences of therapists and client who have engaged in psychodynamic therapy outside of the consulting room.

Introduction... the human bit..

I believe that human connection is the most essential part to successful psychotherapy, and, within this, I never practice any form of therapy that I haven't received myself.

In line with this, I will only bring counsellors, psychotherapists and students to work alongside me if they are able to demonstrate the same level of commitment to our profession, which includes an ongoing dedication to continuing their knowledge and skill development.

Each are required to have committed demonstratable time to work through their own life experiences, and also to have completed a high standard of training in order to become a qualified therapist within their chosen modality.

Lee Jones

BACP Registered Integrative Counsellor

Lee is a newly qualified Counsellor, who works with young people and adults.

He has an impressively long history - over 30 years - of working alongside young people and adults within his previous job role, and, over the last two years, as a Clinician.

As a Humanistic Counsellor, Lee's approach is focused upon supporting clients to overcome life's challenges and move towards a more healthier and fulfilling future.

In this approach to therapy, Lee's role is to help create a relationship with the client that is unconditional, empathic and congruent; creating the appropriate environment to enable the client to realise their potential and grow as a person, with a fundamental belief that the client is the expert with regards to their own life.

Since beginning to work as a Counsellor, Lee has worked with adults who have been experiencing a range of difficulties including low mood, anxiety, bereavement, relationship difficulties and traumatic histories.

Lee has recently completed a specific training course to provide him with specific skills and knowledge to work with clients who have Autism (ASD) and ADHD, as well as clients who have neurodivergent traits rather than a full diagnosis.

With the support of our service, he plans to commence specific trauma training in the near future, and in the meantime will be continuing to attend CPD events to further develop his trauma-informed practice with clients.
